Third Exchange Programme, April 29-30, 2010, in Istanbul, Turkey

Min Env and Forestry - TurkeyThe Third Exchange Programme, organized by the Secretariat of the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network for Accession (ECENA), in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry, took place in Istanbul from the 29th to the 30th of April 2010. Its overall objective was to consolidate the learning experiences provided by ECENA and IMPEL, and open new collaborative ways in which the beneficiary countries can implement those lessons - nationally and regionally. It is expected that this informal approach will contribute for the establishment of a regional outlook to environmental law enforcement. The participants of the training program came from the national authorities responsible for the enforcement of environmental law in ECENA beneficiary countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo as defined by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, and Turkey. The previous exchange programmes were held in Ohrid, in 2009, and in Zagreb, in 2010. The main topics covered included an overview on permitting and inspections in Turkey, EU Member States' experiences with the pharmaceutical industry, NECEMA and IMPEL activities, site visit to Pfizer Turkey.
